Cloud Migration & Management

Transformation, modernization and management of your Cloud infrastructure

Cloud Migration

When operational efficiency and simplification come together, you can focus on what really matters: your clients!

At the heart of the digital transformation and evolution strategy of today’s businesses, cloud migration consists of moving an application hosted on physical servers to a location in the cloud environment after having optimized it for this purpose, allowing you to reduce your investment in resources and at the same time, modernize your processes.

Our Cloud Migration Services

Your company and your employees have little or no experience with cloud technologies and infrastructures? Would you like to be counselled, trained, guided and supported by professionals during your IT evolution?

Do you wish to opt for cloud services because your applications are still resource-intensive or would you like to reduce the number of system administrators on your team and benefit from expertly managed cloud services?

Whatever the reason, Logient and its experienced resources will guide you through each step of your transformation journey!

Benefits of Migrating to the Cloud

Management entrusted to a specialized supplier and access to serverless services (PaaS, FaaS, SaaS, etc.)
Automated replication to different geographic sites to ensure data redundancy
Increased security and resilience
Reduction of physical and material risks
Ability to focus on the application, its configuration and behavior while relying on the cloud provider experience for the rest
Multi-region distribution capacity at a lower cost
Modernization of operations and preparation for future technological generations
A system administrator has become obsolete for the computer park management, the material resources (ex.: hard disk, RAM, etc.), the servers, the needs of the TelCo (internet access of the infrastructure) and the alternative energy source, as it is the case for high availability environments
Increase in the efficiency of your processes
Control costs by paying only for what you actually use
Flexibility and increased availability in real time
Capacity for load increases and scaling
Instant access to recent deployments and updates of products and versions
Possibilité de se concentrer sur l’application, sa configuration et son comportement en se fiant à l’expérience du CloudProvider pour le reste

Steps of a Cloud Migration Process

The migration strategy will vary from case to case depending on the customer’s needs and budget. In some cases, when applications are hosted in an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) instance, the migration can be relatively straightforward. In other cases, migrating to the cloud offers the opportunity to redesign the application to take full advantage of the capabilities and benefits of the cloud, if desired and the costs are worth it.

Code Auditing & Reporting

Before undertaking a migration, we recommend that you perform a detailed audit that includes a review of the architecture, application code, as well as analysis of the infrastructure, databases, usage statistics, IP addresses, and more.

When you entrust us with the migration of your solutions and applications to the cloud, we first conduct an audit of the code and its current hosting infrastructure to ensure that they are truly cloud ready. We identify the exact reasons for the desired migration and then the precise needs of your organization as well as the cloud services that will meet the various requirements of the solution. If necessary, some refactoring may be required following the analysis to make it cloud compliant.

Our team, in developing a strategic migration plan, documents the findings and delivers a report with recommendations. This ranges from updating internal documentation to adjusting the framework or code to prepare for the migration.

Implementation & Quality Assurance

The next step is the implementation, which is the milestones required to address any potential gaps in the process.

Every project also includes a quality assurance phase where we validate the work done, the availability, the efficiency and the security of the migration before its completion.

Cloud Management

You’ve successfully migrated your platforms to the cloud and have optimized your CloudOps processes to enhance your daily operations. Unfortunately, just because your applications are no longer residing on physical servers in your offices doesn’t mean they don’t need maintenance. Everything in the cloud also needs careful attention and our cloud management services give you that peace of mind.

Advantages of Entrusting Your Cloud Management to our Experts

Use a trusted, single partner, such as Logient, whose team of experts has a 360-degree understanding of cloud management and a proven track record in the industry.
Save time and resources by offloading your daily, weekly and monthly cloud management.
Ensure the quality and safety of your installations by handing over the task to experts who complete this type of intervention on a daily basis, allowing you to take advantage of your automation experience (repeatable elements, automated templates, redundancy in case of resource changes, etc.)
Leverage Logient’s strong skills in all areas of the cloud and multi-cloud, PaaS, SaaS and serverless expertise.

Cloud Infrastructure Maintenance

Let Logient guide you through the entire lifecycle of your application or solution, from ideation to adaptive, preventive and evolutionary maintenance of its infrastructure.

Avoid managing multiple vendors. Logient will be your single point of contact to ensure the security and reliability of your operations.

With cloud management, you won’t need to modify your IT assets and perform software updates to your infrastructure, since they will be done automatically, like the latest security patches. Load balancing, when configured, will also be done by your cloud provider.

However, Logien will be able to assist you with cloud maintenance, including:

  • Rotation of secrets, certificates and keys
  • Update of IaaS environments
  • Application of new cloud resources in security (e.g. GuardGuty of AWS and Advisor for Azure)
