Logient, proud sponsor of the Polytechnique Montreal Hackathon: “The Hackatown”

Events

On January 19th and 20th, the Polytechnique Montréal held the third edition of its annual Hackathon: “The Hackatown”. The theme of the event was centered around the Smart City and the objective was to create products that enhance urban living by using the enormous quantity of data that is readily available to those who know how to use it.

Logient has always been very involved with the Polytechnique and its representatives were proud to be on site to meet students and talk to them about the company’s current internships and available positions. Luc Filion, vice-president of engineering, acted as a mentor and guided the teams participating in the event when it came to the realization of their projects. He was also part of the jury in charge of selecting the product that stood out the most.

Luc also gave a conference on Geo LT, Logient’s Geolocation application that can transform any indoor area into an intelligent workspace. He spoke about the design and architecture challenges that the company faced and how the solution was finally developed and deployed. This information piqued the interest of several students and ended up serving them well in overcoming the challenges they faced during the weekend’s competition.
