Solution
Logient has the team and the expertise to meet the needs of the project. It proposes to dedicate a mobile developer, a Web front-end developer and a PM to the project. That team will work closely with Phi Studio in order to implement a solution built on the respective experience of each team:
- Develop a system service on the virtual reality headset to manage the virtual application, as well as the headset systems (such as volume) and to provide information on energy consumption (battery). The performance and consumption of this service are essential points to consider. Logient suggests using Android’s WorkManager API for headset monitoring since it is the lightest option in terms of resource consumption.
- In order to allow room operators to work on participants’ headsets in the event of a problem, an Android application on a tablet must be developed. This will allow scanning the QR codes present on the headsets, sending commands to the back-end (start or switch off the headset selected by the scan), continuously sending the position of the tablet when it is in activity. The application will also display an experience management console Web interface.
Project management was done in agile mode and was broken down into 2 sprints of 2 weeks, one for the headset and one for the tablet, with 3 demonstrations.
